It's not your fault!

It’s Monday afternoon and I am here to tell you that it’s not your fault, apparently.

If you’re a dad who’s prone to embarrassing dancing then don’t worry, it’s not your fault – that’ll be a bout of ‘beat deafness’.

Looking older than your years?

Don’t worry, it’s not your fault – you most likely live in a city.

These are all headlines in the papers and magazines.

They would have us believe that nothing is our fault - our health, our careers, and even our dancing (although, that really may be a case of either having it or not).

The truth is, as I’m sure you’re aware, it is our fault, all of it.

And you know that.

If you’re worried that your face is adding 10 years to your real age, then you can change your lifestyle, because you’re in control.

And what a great place that is to be.

Liberating.

I know, it’s not always a comfortable position to be in and sometimes it would be much easier to reject that responsibility and look for the nearest excuse, but none of us arrived at a certain point in our life, thinking that it was going to be easy, did we?

For all of us, there is something in our life that we could exercise greater control of this week - it might be a case of not enjoying your job, or not eating as healthy as you planned, or even our time.

But, we can take control - each of us embracing responsibility.

Oh, and stop reading the papers and magazines – they are full of s***.
